Oracle messengers are one of my favorite ways to get answers to questions and get direction when I need to know where to focus my energy and attention.
Working with the Oracle
I believe working with the oracle messengers is a good way to gain insight and direction because life is like the seasons of the year it’s full of change.
It can be an exciting and unpredictable adventure like a maze of possible choices with an unknown outcome with each decision.
Sometimes when I feel like I’m in that maze of decision making I go to the oracles for guidance as I get ready for the possible change ahead of me.
Cycles of Change
Life is similar to the seasons of the year because it brings cycles of change. We go through times of renewal and fresh starts because it’s time to move forward or even leave something behind because it’s no longer working for us.
Maybe it’s an old habit we’ve been holding onto or it might be time to find a different kind of work. Sometimes we just need to step out of our comfort zone and try something new.
In my work with the oracles I’ve been lead to pay attention to my dreams and creativity. For example I’ve wanted to go somewhere with my art, whether it be illustrating a book or designing cards.
I kept getting cards that in some form or another give me that message so I decided to pay attention and go for it, which is another card that would often come up.
One set of cards I like to use are the faerie oracle. The Green Lady is one that would come up often and she has to do with enhancing growth of our talents and abilities and embracing our innate magic.
I’d also get Penelope the Dreamweaver who of course has to do with magical dreams, visions and inspirational prompting. She encourages stepping out of the mundane and doing things that inspire and renew us.
All of this is relevant because about a year ago I had a dream and I was drawing lots of pictures so I could make my own coloring book or cards.
Time went by and I remembered the dream but wasn’t yet taking any action. Then one day it clicked and I realized it was time to do something about my dream.
So I decided I was going to get busy and start drawing again, because sadly it had been years since I did any real drawing up to this point.
I’d been neglecting one of my talents and didn’t really have a good excuse to have neglected my gift of creativity. It was just before spring when I resumed drawing and paid attention to the messages I’d been getting.
Now I’m happy to say I’ve completed eighty pictures which have been edited and self-published thanks to my life partner. I’ve completed my first coloring book which has been approved; the first proof comes out in two weeks.
Oracles and Instinct
The oracles work as an extension of what we already know or feel in our deep mind. The cards can be considered the physical representation of it.
The images can bring clarity to the feeling, emotions or desires we have. As we shuffle them and focus on our question we’re setting an intention and releasing our energy into the cards which gives them power.
There’re lots of oracle cards you can choose to work with. Some of them have themes like the Goddess, animals or faeries while others don’t have a set theme.
I personally like to use the ones without a theme because I don’t have to remember the corresponding attributes that go with the theme of the cards.
One of my favorite sets is called The Oracle of Visions. The images are not only colorful and pretty but very straightforward, making it easier to understand their meaning.
That’s not to say you shouldn’t use the ones that have a theme. I have a set of Faerie Oracle cards that I really enjoy, in fact their one of my favorite ways to connect with the faeries and what they have to share.
If you decide to work with the oracles find some that speak to you; just remember it’s not the cards in themselves that have the power to answer to your questions. It’s your energy and intention that give them the power to work for you.
