Our body communicates with us in a variety of ways. For example several six years ago I was suffering from persistent stomach cramps that affected my lower back as well. Sometimes they lasted for a week then I would get a week or two of relief, but they kept coming back. This went on for about a year.
I didn’t want to visit the doctor because I didn’t have health insurance at the time and I was afraid of the cost. I wanted to figure things out on my own.
At first I started drinking more water and changed my eating habits. I was physically active, so I knew it wasn’t that I needed more exercise. The cramps continued.
Body Mind and Communication
I started thinking about yoga because I knew it was supposed to be good for the body and mind. I got into research mode; in doing so I discovered Kundalini Yoga and decided to give it a try.
There was more than just a physical explanation for what I was experiencing. I started learning about chakras and discovered they’re one of the ways our body communicates with us.
There’re seven main chakras located up and down the spine. Chakras are energy centers that regulate specific functions in the body. Once I knew about them and what they do I was able to figure out what has been causing my cramps.
It was my solar plexus is located in the stomach. This chakra distributes life force energy throughout the body, it’s our power center. It helps us express will, enthusiasm and creativity, so we can make and do.
If this center is weak or blocked it can cause unusual tiredness and nervousness, along with stomach and intestinal problems, as well as liver and kidney problems.
My body was trying to tell me something, but it took me a while to realize it and let the healing begin. I bought a Kundalini yoga program because it’s what I needed at the time. It helped me to focus on opening and maintaining my chakras,
I continued my yoga practice for several months at least four times a week and it worked. I took other practical measures as well such as drinking plenty of water and trying to eat healthier.
Looking Beyond the Physical
The cause of my stomach pain was rooted from within rather than something physical.When I decided to look beyond the physical I was able to help my body heal.
The most important thing I could do at the time was to realize my chakras were there and learn how to work with them. I believe learning about our chakras is an easy way to help bring healing into our lives. It gave me the ability to help activate the energy that was already there so they could come alive.
I’m happy to say I haven’t suffered that kind of stomach pain since I learned about my chakras and how to take care of them. Now I have a healthier solar plexus and how to help keep it that way.
