Apple cider vinegar and sage are both pretty amazing. I have used them often and found them to be effective for a variety of things. Here’s a recipe you can try.
Sore throat Gargle:
To help clear up a sore throat you can gargle with sage, apple cider vinegar and salt. Salt draws the excess fluid out of the tissues in your throat that cause swelling. The apple cider vinegar might help get rid of the bug; but if it doesn’t at least it helps with the pain.
Sage is great when it comes to colds because it’s an astringent. It helps get rid of excess fluid in the throat, and it’s anti-bacterial. The amount of sage used makes for a strong tea. It doesn’t taste good, but does the job.
You will need:
3/4 cup apple cider vinegar
4 table spoons dried sage/ or 8 tbs if fresh
1 cup water
An air tight 2oz glass jar with a lid that fits
Put the sage leaves at the bottom of a mug and cover with 1 cup of boiling water. Steep for 15 minutes covered. While the sage is steeping pour 1 cup of apple cider vinegar into the jar and add salt.
Once it’s infused strain the sage tea and add into the apple cider vinegar. You can store it in the fridge for 1 week. Gargle a mouthful 3 times a day for relief.
